1Who we are
SamuelWize is the controller responsible for any personal information handled in connection with Patchline. You can contact us about privacy at samuelwizewallpapers@gmail.com. We handle information in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2Audio — what Patchline accesses on your device
Microphone and instrument audio
Patchline's whole job is mixing audio from devices you choose: your microphone, your USB amp modeler or audio interface, and audio files you add. That audio is captured and processed locally, in real time, on your PC only, and routed to the output devices you choose (for example the VB-CABLE virtual device, so Discord can pick the mix up as a microphone). Patchline never sends your audio anywhere — not to us, not to any server. When you close the app, nothing of it remains except what you chose to record.
Recordings
If you press RECORD, your mix is saved as an audio file in your own Music › Patchline Recordings folder. Recordings stay on your device, under your control; delete them whenever you like. Nothing is uploaded.
Push-to-talk hotkey
If you bind a global push-to-talk key or mouse button, the app watches for that specific key only, so it can mute or unmute your mic while you use other windows. Your typing is not logged, stored, or transmitted.
Discord status
Patchline checks locally whether Discord is running on your PC so it can show setup status. It does not connect to your Discord account, read your messages, or send anything to Discord — Discord simply hears the virtual audio device, like any microphone. Your voice in Discord calls is handled by Discord under Discord's own privacy policy.
Settings
Your preferences (chosen devices, mix levels, scenes) are stored in a local settings file on your device only.
3What Patchline does not do
- No analytics or telemetry — we don't know you've even installed it.
- No account, sign-in, or cloud service.
- No advertising, tracking, or selling of data.
- No network connections from the app itself, except those Microsoft Store services make for licensing and purchases (below). Links you click (like VB-Audio's download page) open in your own browser.
4Purchases (Patchline Pro)
The optional Patchline Pro unlock is sold through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes the payment and ties the purchase to your Microsoft account — we never see your payment details. To check whether Pro is unlocked, the app asks the Microsoft Store services on your device about your own license, and remembers the answer locally so Pro keeps working offline. Microsoft's handling of your account and payment information is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
5Support email
If you email us for help, we receive your email address and the content of your message, and use them only to reply and improve the app. We keep support emails only as long as needed.
6This website
This site is a static website with no accounts, no cookies set by us, and no analytics scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations. The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers when a page loads; Google's handling of those requests is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
7Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information. In practice, Patchline holds essentially no personal information about you — your audio and settings live only on your own device, and purchase records are held by Microsoft. For anything we do hold (such as support emails), contact samuelwizewallpapers@gmail.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8Children
Patchline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows when. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
